The Derby Play and Recycling Centre is a registered charity whose main purpose is to promote and facilitate the recycling and reuse of non-toxic scrap materials to reduce the amount of waste going into landfill. The Centre gives people access to these low-cost materials which they and their children can use in art and play projects to develop their skills in communication, cooperation and creativity. We encourage all our Volunteers, Members, and the general public, to observe the 3 Rs.
Our Scrapstore is filled with many different materials – plastics, fabric, wool, cardboard and paper. To use it you need to become a Scrapstore member.
The UK-wide Community RePaint scheme is managed in Derby by the Centre in cooperation with Derby City Council. Surplus paint can be donated to the scheme by leaving it in the container at the Raynesway Civic Amenity Site. The scheme is managed nationally by resourcefutures.
