Welcome to Albion Farm Shop and Cafe, located in the stunning rural area of Saddleworth, with panoramic views reaching across Delph, Dobcross, Diggle, Greenfield, Scouthead and Lydgate.
Our pride is in our produce, which is either home grown or sourced very carefully from local suppliers. Much of our beef, lamb and mutton are born and reared on the farm and many of the free range eggs we sell are fresh from our own coup, right here in Saddleworth.
Our shop is packed with an array of local delights, all sourced as locally as possible. From our hearty and delicious homemade pies, right through to our personally sourced condiments and snacks, you are certain to find something which tantalises your taste buds.
If you haven’t visited us yet, you’re missing a treat. Arrive hungry to enjoy an honest, hearty home cooked meal in our cosy and welcoming cafe. Then tempt your inner chef with a mooch around the farm shop. We promise you won’t be disappointed!
Seasonal, delicious and bursting with flavour, we source as much local fruit and veg as possible.
Much of our fruit and veg is sourced from our local distributor who is based in Manchester Smithfield market. To see them all in action means a visit in the early hours of the morning, before most people have even risen.
When it comes to potatoes we’re a bit obsessed and find that the British Wilja make a fantastic ‘all rounder’. Full of flavour, we also use them in the cafe for making our own hand cut chips. We also have other delicious seasonal favourites so ask our staff what they recommend.
Our Deli counter is perhaps one of the main attractions at Albion Farm Shop.
We offer an array of homemade pies, from our legendary cheese & onion pie to our steak & Greenfield Ale, and our seasonal offerings which include Albion Farm lamb & mint. Of course these are all made with our homemade pastry!
As well as our homemade pies we are proud to have ‘Saddleworth Pies’, made by local producer, Andrea Roebuck, AKA ‘The Pie Lady’.
Voakes Pies, from Whixley, North Yorkshire, are our longest serving pork pie supplier. Customers have loved them from day one and their popularity has only increased. Additions have included pasties, sausage rolls, game pies and steak pies. Even better, they now make a gluten free range, which can be baked in the comfort of your own home.
When it comes to cheese we are extremely proud to promote British. From our Yorkshire Barncliffe Brie to our Lanacashire Garstang Blue, we have every cheese for your need, also offering samples if you would like to try before you buy. Wedding cheese cakes have been a popular addition and can be tailored to your preference and needs. Please enquire with a member of our staff.
Other deli items include the popular Patchwork pate from Ruthin in Wales, which make delicious, unique flavours, such as wild boar with Blackseal Rum, duck with apricot brandy and our best seller, chicken liver with brandy & herb.
Our antipasti offerings come from local award winners ‘Oliviccio’ who are based less than half a mile down the road and provide us with delicious juicy olives, sun dried cherry tomatoes, cream cheese stuffed peppers and various other nibbles.
The latest addition to our deli is our freshly made to order sandwich bar. Made on a freshly baked ciabatta you can choose from one of our home cooked meats or homemade sandwich fillings. These have already proved to be popular with local businesses, walkers and people passing by. Telephone orders are welcome.

We have a large selection of delicious home baked and homemade breads and pastries. Our home baked selection includes a garlic & rosemary loaf which is perfect for making your own garlic bread at home, or a crunchy sour dough which is delicious when dipped in one of our homemade soups.
Our range includes everything from weekly staples to an ever changing selection of homemade specials, too tempting not to try.
Managed by Head Butcher Kyle Mottram, our Butchery department prides itself on serving top quality, home reared and locally sourced produce.
Our pedigree beef and mutton are home reared, hung and matured for 28 days before being prepared by our award winning butchers, as well as our home reared lamb. To meet increasing demand, we also source high quality lamb and beef from well chosen local farmers.
We only sell free range pork which is outdoor reared and sourced from from three different farms in the Vale of York – very popular for Hog Roast Catering, perfect for this kind of event.
Our herb fed, free range chickens come from Pilmoor, North Yorkshire which are traditionally farmed, hand-fed and kept in small flocks so that they are truly free to forage for food and roam their Yorkshire pasture. Their unique diet includes over 10 varieties of fresh herbs, all home grown, making for an extremely flavoursome bird.
We pride ourselves on our homemade sausages and offer a wide range of pork, lamb and beef sausages made using natural skins rather than commonly used collagen skins. We have won a number of awards for our homemade sausages, which also include one of our best sellers, black treacle with spring onion, and our home cured bacon has won triple gold awards!
When in season, game is also available, sourced directly from the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
